HMRC awards tax winners

Winners of the HMRC External Engagement Awards 2012 have been announced.

The annual awards recognise contributions made by business, professional and voluntary communities in helping HMRC to run the tax system. The winners this year were as follows:-

Paul Aplin (ICAEW) for his strong public advocacy of the Joint Initiative on Service Delivery.

Peter MacSwiney (ASM UK Ltd) for his role as a trade-side chairman of the Joint Customs Consultative Committee.

TaxAid - a charity providing specialist tax advice to customers on low incomes.

Will Morris (Director of Global Tax Policy at GE) for championing ever-better customer understanding within HMRC.

The awards took place yesterday at 11 Downing Street with the winners being chosen by their peers in the tax community using criteria involving commitment, customer focus and clarity.
